Cottonport man charged with 100 counts of child pornography

A Cottonport man has been arrested on 100 counts of child pornography following an investigation by Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's Office and Louisiana Attorney General's Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

   Deadrick Taylor, 41, allegedly downloaded chiild pornography from the internet. He was booked into Avoyelles Detention Center #1 where he was being held under $100,000 bond as of press time Monday.

   The APSO said the investigation is continuing and there could be additional charges.   Deadrick is a registered sex offender, stemming from a January 2007 indictment for molesting a juvenile.  

    Avoyelles Sheriff David L. Dauzat said he is "proud to work with the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office and other law enforcement agencies to keep our children and communities safe, apprehend these offenders and safely remove them from the streets of our parish.

   "We are committed to keeping our children safe," Dauzat added.
