Funeral services for Allen J. Jeansonne of Big Bend will take place at the St. Michael Catholic Church of Rexmer on Sunday, July 22, 2012, beginning at 2:00pm with Msgr. Steve Testa officiating. Visitations will be held at the St. Peter’s Catholic Church Hall of Bordelonville on Sunday morning, from 8:00am to 1:30pm. Burial services will be at the St. Michael Cemetery.

Allen Jeansonne, age 81, passed away at his home on Friday, July 20, 2012. Mr. Jeansonne was a veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion of Bordelonville. He raised cattle for over 50 years and was a member of the Avoyelles Cattlemen’s Association. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilson & Doris Barbin Jeansonne; daughter, Aline Jeansonne.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jerayne Jeansonne of Big Bend; daughters, Jacquelyn & husband Carl Richard of Lafayette, Janell & husband Larry Koenig of Baton Rouge, Jolene Allbright of Baton Rouge; sisters, Vergeline Clause of Baton Rouge, Elaine Newton of River Ridge; three grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, & eleven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers for the service will include: Carl Richard, Larry Koenig, Kevin Normand, Chris Jouban, Alan Jouban, & Taylor Jeansonne. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Escudé Funeral Home.
