Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8:30 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the services at John Kramer & Son.
A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Rev. Bruce Miller officiating.
Charles E. Haftmann, Sr., 91, was born on October 11, 1920, in Crucible, Pennsylvania, to Alexander Haftmann and Eleanor Werbluqevic. He was a Veteran of the United States Army Air Corps and the United States Air Force, retiring after thirty years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Alex Haftmann and Wilbur Haftmann; first wife of fifty-four years, Rosemary A. Vangold and two sons, Charles E. Haftmann, Jr. and David G. Haftmann and one stepson, Royce Hughes, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of thirteen years, Lucetta Hayes Hughes Haftmann of Effie; one daughter Diana Sieradazki and her husband, Ed of Westerville, Ohio; two sons, Thomas L. Haftmann and his wife, Sherri of Lake Charles and Michael S. Haftmann of Pineville; one stepdaughter, Jackie Edwards and her husband, Gary of Effie; two stepsons, David Hughes and his wife, Margaret and Daryl Hughes all of Effie; twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and one great great- grandchild.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Tom Haftmann, Mick Haftmann, Michael Haftmann, Eli Haftmann, Charles Haftmann, Chris Haftmann, David Hughes and Daryl Hughes.
