Mrs. Scott Alan Simon of Henderson, Nevada and Mr. William Walter Clark of Lafayette announce the engagement of their daughter, Alexandra Leigh Clark, to Mr. Beau Richard Layfield, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Grady Layfield of Mansura.

The couple will be united in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony in March, at the Academy of the Sacred Heart Chapel in New Orleans. The Reverend Chad Anthony Partain of Mansura will officiate.

Miss Clark, whose mother is the former Jacqueline Ann Jumonville, graduated from the Academy of the Sacred Heart in New Orleans. She received her bachelor of arts degree, summa cum laude, in History from the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College of the University of Mississippi, where she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority.

She received her juris doctor and Bachelor of Civil Law degrees, magna cum laude, from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center of Louisiana State University, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif and the Louisiana Law Review.

Miss Clark is currently employed as an attorney at Jones, Walker, Waechter, Poitevent, Carrère & Denège L.L.P.

Miss Clark is the granddaughter of Ms. Jacqueline Thames Jumonville of Lafayette, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Jackson Sharp Jumonville of Mandeville, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Fredrick Clark.

Mr. Layfield, whose mother is the former Kathleen Sharon Prevot, graduated from Avoyelles High School in Moreauville. He received his bachelor of arts degree in Political Science from Louisiana State University and was a member of Kappa Alpha Order.

Mr. Layfield received his juris doctor and Bachelor of Civil Law degrees from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center of Louisiana State University.

Mr. Layfield established The Layfield Law Firm, where he currently practices, with offices in Marksville and Baton Rouge.

Mr. Layfield is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Buvens Louis Prevot, the late Ms. Nellie Rose Layfield and the late Mr. William Grady Layfield.
