Evangeline Parish Rice Field Clinic is May 20

The 2008 Evangeline Parish Rice Field Clinic will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 8:30 a.m. at Kody and Larry Bieber Farms at the bins. This year’s clinic will feature variety trials, fertilization, weeds, insects and diseases.

Please join us on this day for a morning clinic. We will view the variety plots and have the following speakers discussing these topics:

•Drs. Steve Linscombe, Xueyan Sha, and Brookes Blanche: Long ,Medium Grain, and Special Purpose Variety Development

•Dr. Dustin Harrell: Fertilization timing, as well as Agrotain use

•Dr. Johnny Saichuk: Update on current Growing season field situations observed

•Dr. Eric Webster: Herbicide application updates

•Dr. Don Groth: Fungicide application rates and timing

•Dr Natalie Hummell: Rice Insect Updates-Primarily Weevils, some new insect information

•Dr. Gene Johnson: Market Outlook

We will have plenty of donuts, water, and soft drinks, as well as breakfast boudin. Some of you may not be able to stay for the entire meeting, but we would like to have you visit with us as long as you can.
