Piedmont, S.C. – Joanne N. Smith Hebert, 52, of Piedmont, loving wife of Jody L. Hebert for 23 years, died Thursday, July 9, 2008.

Born in Sanford, Maine, Mrs. Hebert was the daughter of the late Byron M. “Red” Smith and Bernadette Lizotte Smith.

Joanne was a very giving and compassionate person as she volunteered her time and talents at Trinity United Methodist Church; the PTO of her daughter’s schools; Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church and St. Luke’s Catholic Church. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her husband she leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Jessica Bernadette Hebert and Jordan Lydia Hebert of Piedmont; four sisters, Patricia Ward and her husband Pete of Newfield, Maine, Linda Stansfield and Janet Hobb of Sanford, Maine, and Diane Field and her husband George, of Springvale, Maine; one brother, William Smith of Old Orchard Beach, Maine; her mother-in-law, Melba and father-in-law Don Hebert of Breaux Bridge; and one sister-in-law, Gina Theall and her husband Shane of Lafayette.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Luke’s Catholic Church on Thursday, July 17, 2008, at 10 a.m.
