The Mamou Rotary Club held its annual banquet Friday night, April 4, to honor its Man and Woman of the Year for 2007.
Emcee for the evening was Emelie Frazer, who introduced the Man of the Year, Bruce Rozas, for all the hard work he has done in his community. Rozas introduced the Woman of the Year, Patricia “Pat” Ardoin, who has served her community for many years as an educator.
Rotarian Elvin Reed provided a colorful and funny introduction for the guest speaker of the evening, KATC’s Hoyt Harris, who talked about his life, his accomplishments and the need to be determined to succeed, as the man and woman of the year have been. “I think we make our own luck,” Harris said. “You have to be determined.”
Everyone enjoyed delicious food and door prizes were given throughout the event.
