Marksville Walgreens Now Carries LSUA Merchandise

The Walgreens Drug Store in Marksville is among five in Cenla that is selling LSU Alexandria merchandise, announced David Wesse, vice chancellor for finance and administrative services. “It’s the first off-campus offering of licensed LSUA items,” said Wesse, “and we’re very pleased to have this partnership with Walgreens.”

Lance Young, community store manager for Walgreens, said each of the stores carries LSUA T-shirts, ladies fitted T-shirts, caps and hooded sweatshirts. “The Generals baseball and softball teams have generated interest with the opening of the new fields at LSUA as has the 50th anniversary celebration of the school. We’re happy to support the university by selling its merchandise.”

Wesse said other retail outlets are being approached about offering LSUA apparel.

LSUA is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2010, having opened its doors in September, 1960. Avoyelles Parish students have counted for the second largest parish in enrollment numbers since the commuter college opened.
