A police officer who works for both Moreauville and Mansura has been arrested by Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office investigators on domestic abuse charges. The officer, allegedly, beat his wife and 13-year old daughter.

According to Steve Martel of APSO, Moreauville Police were called to the home of Wade Armand at 743 Couvillion Street in Moreauville at 2 a.m. on Sunday, September 5. When officers arrived they, allegedly, observed that Armand, age 35, and his wife had been in an argument. The officers also observed that Armand had, allegedly, struck his wife and daughter. Acadian Ambulance was called to the scene and both the wife and daughter were taken to Avoyelles Hospital where they were treated and released.

Moreauville Police called in investigators from APSO because the crime involved a Moreauville officer. Armand was arrested just a short while later and booked into Detention center #1.

Armand has been charged with domestic abuse battery and second degree battery. As of Tuesday afternoon, he is still being held in the APSO jail as no bond has been set.

I hope that he is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Any man that beats a woman and child is a coward and the lowest scum in the world.
