Santa Claus has contacted the Avoyelles Journal once again to publish letters from the children with a connection to Avoyelles Parish. The letters will be published in the newspaper before Christmas. Santa will read the letters so he can get an idea of what the children would like to receive for Christmas.
The deadline for submitting letters to the Avoyelles Journal is 4 p.m. on Tuesday, December 15.
Parents and teachers, please note that letters must be legible and of a reasonable length (please no more than 100 words at most). The newspaper reserves the right to edit letters as necessary. Also, letters should reflect the thoughts of the child. The child’s name, age, town and school grade (if any) must appear on the letter. Each child may submit only one letter.
Mail to: Avoyelles Journal, P.O. Box 36, Marksville, LA 71351. The letter may also be brought to the Avoyelles Journal office at 105 North Main Street in Marksville or the Bunkie Record office at 637 Evergreen Street in Bunkie, or faxed to: (318)253-7223 or emailed to avoyellesjournal@yahoo.com
Some of the letters from children outside of the Avoyelles area will be posted on the www.avoyellestoday.com website.
Letters to Santa have appeared every year in the Avoyelles Journal since 1978.
