St. Joseph softball advances to quarter finals

St. Joseph School in Plaucheville's softball team will advance to the state Class C quartefinals. The Lady Eagles shut out Claborne Christian Lady Crusaders 6-0 on Thursday, April 19 in Plaucheville.

The team will play on Friday, April 27 at 4 p.m. in the State Fast Pitch 56 Tournament in Sulphur. They will face Starks High School in the State Class-C quarterfinals. If the Lady Eagles win they will play at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, in the state semi-finals. The Class-C finals are set for 5 p.m. Saturday evening.

This will be the seventh out of the last eight years, St. Joseph softball has made the state quarterfinals.

The Avoyelles Lady Mustangs were beaten in the second round of the Class-AAA softball playoffs by Notre Dame of Crowley 6-2 on Thursday evening. It ewnded a two year run by the Lady Mustangs in making the state tournament in Sulphur.
