A Mass of Christian Burial for Thelma S. Carmouche will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Rev. Dan O'Connor and Rev. Silverino Kwebuza officiating. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Fifth Ward, under the direction of Kramer of Fifth Ward.
Thelma S. Carmouche, 85, of Fifth Ward, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012 in Hessmer Nursing Home.
Thelma is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Walton J. Carmouche; grandson, Joseph Varner; parents, Louis and Edna Scallan; sister, Verline Gagnard; and brother Newty Scallan.
Mrs. Carmouche was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Fifth Ward. She was a member of the Altar Society and the Church Choir. She served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a C.C.D. teacher for 32 years.
She is lovingly survived by her son, Gerald Carmouche and wife Mary of Pineville; daughter, Gail Varner of Fifth Ward; six grandchildren, Leagh Gunter and husband Erick of Oklahoma City, OK, Lyndsay Varner of Fifth Ward, Chuck Carmouche and wife Cassandra of Pineville, Melissa Litton and husband Lane of Pineville, Julie Eubanks and husband Bubba of Pineville; and seven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday, August 20, 2012 and from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Tuesday august 21, 2012 at Kramer of Fifth Ward. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Chuck Carmouche, Lane Litton, Bubba Eubanks, Erick Gunter, V.J. Dauzat, and James Ducote. Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
