Third well for Eola permitted in 2011; Shallow well targets Wilcox formation

Another oil well has been issued a permit from the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources.

On August 17, a permit was issued for the Haas Inv. Co well no. 1 to be drilled in Eola at a dept of 9000 feet. The well is located in Section 7 of township 02 South and Range 3east, This is the third shallow well to be permitted in the old Eola Field south of Bunkie in 2011, and the sixth well to be permiited this year in Avoyelles Parish.

These wells are not targeting the deeper Tuscalloosa Shale and Austin Chalk which are the focus activity in the Dupont area.

The three shallow well permits for wells targeting the Wilcox formation in Eola this year are:
