Jerrel James Guillot, Sr. Funeral services for Mr. Jerrel James Guillot, Sr. will be held on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Fifth Ward with Father Silverino officiating. Interment will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery #3 in Fifth Ward. Arrangements are entrusted to Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville, LA
Mr. Guillot, age 60, of Marksville, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2010 in Marksville. He was preceded in death by his wife Wanda Barbin Guillot in 2003.
He was a resident and native of Fifth Ward, member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, a Vietnam War Veteran serving with the 101st Air Borne Division where he received numerous medals including the purple heart and bronze star. He retired from AT&T/Bell South as a telephone line technician. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, & fisherman.
He is survived by two sons, Jerrel Guillot, Jr. & wife Jill, Jeremey Guillot & wife Chantelle, one daughter, Jenny Dauzat & husband, Fredrick, all of Fifth Ward, parents, Ivy Guillot, Sr. & wife Leona of Fifth Ward, two brothers, Wendell Guillot of Marksville, Ivy Guillot, Jr. of Fifth Ward, two sisters, Danita Dupuy of Marksville, and Sheila Gaspard of Fifth Ward, and 7 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville on Saturday, November 20, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will resume on Sunday at 8:00 a.m. until shortly before time of service. A Chrisitan Wake Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. until time of service in the funeral home
