This week The Avoyelles Journal begins its search for Avoyellean of the Year 2010.

Each year, nominations are sought to honor good people in Avoyelles for their countless and unselfish deeds whether public or private. From these nominations, one person is chosen as Avoyellean of the Year.

The award has been given annually since 1976 when Verdie B. Lemoine was the first person chosen as Avoyellean of the Year. Each year a resident of Avoyelles is honored with the title for outstanding service to the people of Avoyelles.

Please take a few moments to write down a nomination of someone you feel is deserving of this award. There are volunteers who work both behind the scenes and out front in the public eye in Avoyelles, and they all deserve to be recognized.

PREMONITION TELLS ME THE SELECTED AVOYELLEAN WILL BE A BUSSINESS PERSON. THE OUTCOME IS NEVER FORTUITOUS. THE WHOLE IDEA IS TO OBFUSCATE THE PUBLIC OF THE TRUE INTENTIONS. PARTIALITY IS CERTAINLY A FACTOR. HOW IRONIC, THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IS THE ONE MAKING THE SELECTION. WHAT ABOUT THE TRUE HEREOS: THE SOUL SAVERS,THE BENEIFICIENT ONES, THE ALTRUISTIC ONES... IT ALL COMES BACK TO THE AVARIICIOUS MERCENARIES.
