Dewayne Lemoine, Superintendent of Avoyelles Parish Schools, has issued an announcement that all public schools will be open Thursday, February 10.

The Department of Transportation and Development issued a bulletin today advising that the National Weather Service has forecasted conditions that may result in the possibility of ice on some of the state roads and bridges in Central Louisiana. DOTD will be monitoring the roadways for ice and maintenance forces will be on standby to apply salt over affected bridges as needed.



Local DOTD officials have advised that all roads and bridges are currently open in the parish and will keep school officials abreast of any changes. The media will be notified before 5:30 AM, Thursday, February 10, 2011, if any changes do occur that would result in school closures.
