Travis Tritt was one of the leading new country singers of the early '90s, holding his own against Garth Brooks , Clint Black, and Alan Jackson. He was the only one not to wear a hat and the only one to dip into bluesy Southern rock. Consequently, he developed a gutsy, outlaw image that distinguished him from the pack. Throughout the early '90s, he had a string of platinum albums and Top Ten singles, including three number one hits.
Tritt’s mainstream country and southern rock style has helped him earn two Grammys, both for Best Country Collaboration with Marty Stuart. In 1992, they composed a duet titled “The Whiskey Ain’t Workin’” and in 1998 they worked with nine other artists to produce “Same Old Train.” His hits have charted more than forty times on the Hot Country charts. Number one hits include “Help Me Hold On,” “Anymore,” “Can I Trust You with My Heart,” “Foolish Pride” and “Best of Intentions.” Tritt has described his music as “soulful,” and writes his songs “strictly from personal experiences.”
