Everyone across America knows that the ‘Cell Phone’ may have been one of the best inventions since the introduction of sliced bread, to the family dinner table. The positive uses of the phone has many benefits to include, a life line should an emergency situation arise while out on the roadways, not to mention that many businesses depend on it for actually operating company matters such as sales and service. With out it, you have to wonder where corporate America and the citizens of our country might be. It further brings up the question of just how we made it for hundreds and thousands of years, with out it.

These are all good reasons to own a cell phone, but on the flip side there is also a dark sinister side to the small piece of equipment that you can hold in the palm of your hand. Outside of family health issues, the Cell Phone has the potential to be the most lethal piece of property that you own. Recent studies have proven that deaths on our streets and hwy ways are on the rise, and it’s directly related the people ‘texting while driving’. Next time you’re out and about keep track of the number of people that you see texting while operating their vehicle, and you will be amazed, at how big a problem this is growing to be. Many states have already instituted laws that ticket drivers for performing this operation, of texting while driving, but the major problem is the fact that to often an accident occurs before this ever happens. What we need more then anything is a ‘public awareness’ education to the cell phone, texting while driving problem. The same as the Dare programs in our schools that teach the kids about the dangerous life threatening downfalls of drug use. Think about the money that we could be saving as insured automobile drivers, with the number of accidents reduced simply by respecting the dangers that texting while operating can cause.

The possibility of getting hurt, or injuring someone else in a avoidable accident, is not worth the message in the text that you are sending on that cell phone. Please wait until the vehicle is stopped. The few precious seconds that you wait could save a life, even your own.
