Funeral services for Cleothile Dewailly of Bordelonville will be held at the St. Peter Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, beginning at 2 pm, with Msgr. Steve Testa officiating. Burial services will commence at the St. Peter Mausoleum. Arrangements are under the direction of Escudé Funeral Home in Bordelonville.

Cleothile Dewailly, age 92, passed from this life on May 16, 2011 at Avoyelles Hospital. She was a Home Economics Teacher at Bordelonville High School and retired after 33 years of service in her educational career. Mrs. Dewailly was a resident of Bayou Chateau Nursing Home for three and a half years. She touched the hearts of many people during her life and will be missed by all who knows her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Emmanuel and Ida Bordelon; three brothers, B.J. Bordelon, M.A. Bordelon, and P.W. Bordelon; one sister, Blanche Laborde; brother-in-law, Albert Dewailly; and sister-in-law, Verbena Dewailly.

Survivors include her husband, Voorhies “V.P.” Dewailly, Jr. of Bordelonville; son, Voorhies “Buster” (Donna) Dewailly of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Gretchen (Jerry) Krueger of Stafford, Texas, and Paula (Terry) Bergeron of Goudeau; brother-in-law, Edmund (Adeline) Dewailly of Baton Rouge; two grandchildren, Annette (Jason) Droddy of Baton Rouge, and David Bergeron of Goudeau; two great grandchildren, Ryan Droddy of Baton Rouge, and Jacob Droddy of Baton Rouge; a host of neices, nephews, and extended family.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 18,2011 at St. Peters Church Hall in Bordelonville from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
