LAFAYETTE, LA-Sarah Elizabeth Delahoussaye and Thomas Ryan Hooks were united in holy matrimony at Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic Church in Lafayette, Louisiana on Friday, May 20th. Reverend Steven C. Leblanc officiated the 7:00 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Delahoussaye of Lafayette, Louisiana. Her mother is the former Elvie Prejean of Mire, Louisiana. Sarah is the granddaughter of Ms. Ruth Prejean and the late Mr. Patrick Ashton Prejean, Senior; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Delahoussaye; and Ms. Joyce Delahoussaye. Sarah is a 2006 graduate of St. Thomas More Catholic High School and a 2010 graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Hooks of Opelousas, Louisiana. His mother is the former Pamela Gaspard of Moreauville, Louisiana. Thomas is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jules Gaspard, and Mrs. Lillian Hooks and the late Mr. Curtis Hooks, Senior. Thomas is a 2004 graduate of Opelousas Catholic High School and a 2008 graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Thomas will graduate in May 2011 with his Juris Doctorate from the Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center. He will begin working this fall in New Orleans, Louisiana with the Jones Walker law firm.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant white luxe taffeta gown by designer Mori lee. The ball gown has a beautiful beaded band that ties in the back. The V neck bodice has a pleated surplus crossover bust with covered buttons along the back and the train.

The bride carried a hand tied bouquet of white roses and white hydrangea.

The bride was attended by her maid of honor, Ashley Delahoussaye, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Lindsey Lane, sister of the groom; Bethany Petersen, Adele Williams, and Yvonne Bienvenu, friends of the bride; and Claire Broussard and Monique Prejean, cousins of the bride. Caroline Lane, Godchild of the groom, served as flower girl.

Paul Brownlee, friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were David Michael Hooks, brother of the groom; Jason Lane, brother-in-law of the groom; Jason Delahoussaye, brother of the bride; and Charles Matthew Ledoux, Danny Stelly, and Kevin Blanchard, friends of the groom. Ushers were Ray Brownlee, Jeffrey Mizzi, and William Montgomery, friends of the groom, and Edward Meaux, cousin of the bride. Diego Padilla, cousin of the bride, served as the ring bearer.

Serving as gift bearers were Mr. and Mrs. John Wayne Prejean, Godparents of the bride, and Mrs. Ruth Hooks, aunt of the groom. Lectors were Sharon Guillory, aunt of the groom, and Lisa Landry, aunt of the bride. Serving as Eucharistic Minister was Delores Meaux, aunt of the bride.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at River Oaks in Lafayette, Louisiana. The couple will reside in New Orleans, Louisiana.
