Troopers responded to the crash around 9:00 pm, which occurred on LA Hwy 28 East near Trinity Church Road in Rapides Parish. The crash involved a 2011 Ford Expedition, driven by Pineville Mayor Clarence Fields (B/M 55 yrs) of Pineville and a pedestrian, identified as Erica L. Terrell (W/F 29 yrs) of Pineville. The Ford was west bound in the right lane on LA Hwy 28 East when it collided with Terrell. Terrell was walking in the right lane.
Fields was not injured in the crash.
Terrell was pronounced dead.
Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
