Deshotels 13H No.1 Completion Update: Turner Bayou Chalk Project

Pryme Energy Limited (Pryme) of Australia has released an update on operations at its Turner Bayou project in Avoyelles Parish. Because of a mechanical delay, the flow testing which helps indicate the productivity of the well has been pushed back as the well needs additional unexpected work. Many landowners in Avoyelles are waiting for results of this well, the second deep horizontal well in a field between Dupont and Odenburg.

The news release is as follows:

As previously announced, the Turner Bayou engineering team believes that the ports in the Packers Plus production liner in the horizontal leg of the well may not have opened properly during the completion process and a completion rig has been contracted to return to site to undertake further work.

A coiled tubing completion rig will be located on site today (Monday evening, US Central time) to mill out the actuating balls and port seats in the liner. We expect that the milling procedure should take no longer than one week. It will be followed by perforation of each stage of the horizontal leg and then flow testing.

The Turner Bayou project is a significant part of Pryme’s exploration portfolio and comprises approximately 80 square miles (50,000 acres) which have been imaged by a proprietary 3D seismic survey. Primary targets are the Austin Chalk formation at 15,300 feet and the Eagle Ford formation at 16,000 feet.
