Avoyelles Parish School Board member is in a run-off with Caroly Hill of Baton Rouge for this vacant seat on the state board of elementary and secondary education.
Run-off for sheriff:
Doug Anderson
Damon Didier
Incumbent Sheriff Doug Anderson will face Damon Didier, the grandson of former Avoyelles Sheriff F.O. "Potch" Didier in this run-off.

Two educational tax issues, sales and property to provide funding to improve the Avoyelles Parish School system. If both taxes pass, teachers will be given a much needed raise, school officials say.
Nov. 5-12, 2011 is the early voting period for the Nov. 19, 2011 General election (except Sunday and November 11, 2011-Veterans Day).
Early voting hours: 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Early voting takes place at the Registrar of Voters office in each parish and at designated locations in certain parishes.
