Marksville City Police are on the scene of a shooting on South Preston St., at the Deluxe Inn across from Avoyelles Council on Aging office in Marksville. Possible murder/suicide of two people from Bunkie. They were spending time at the Deluxe Inn in Marksville.

A hearse and office speciality vehicle from Hixson Brothers Funeral Home were seen arriving at the scene at approximately 12:15 p.m.

The investigation is currently ongoing at the scene.

A reporter from Marksville Weekly News was also on the scene.

Eyewitnesses from the scene reported family members of the male and female being visibly emotionally disturbed by the incident.

Police Chief Ellis Walker, Marksville Mayor John Lemoine, councilmen and several police investigators were working the scene.
