Two bodies were found in a motel room in Marksville about noon today.

Marksville City Police were at the scene of the apparent shooting on South Preston St., at the Deluxe Inn, located across from Avoyelles Council on Aging office in Marksville.

Unconfirmed sources indicate the deaths are a possible murder/suicide of two people one of which had an address of the Bunkie area, who had checked into a room at the Deluxe Inn in Marksville.

A hearse and office speciality vehicle from Hixson Brothers Funeral Home were seen arriving at the scene at approximately 12:15 p.m.

Eyewitnesses from the scene reported family members of the male and female as being visibly emotionally disturbed by the incident.

Police Chief Ellis Walker, Marksville Mayor John Lemoine, councilmen and several police investigators were all on hand at the scene.
