The Friday night categories were margaritas, anything over rice, and soup/gumbo.
The categories in the BBQ Throwdown competition today include “people’s choice”, pork spare ribs, chicken, brisket, and sauce. Over $11,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to the top chefs.
TBIPAC invites the public to enjoy some of the delicious BBQ dishes that will be prepared. Tickets are available for a BBQ plate lunch at $7 per plate, which includes: pork steak, sausage, potato salad, rice dressing and a roll. Plate lunches can be picked up during the hours of 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 10. Tickets can also be purchased for $6.00 to judge the “people’s choice” category which will include a sample of all entries submitted.
