Tulane prof, long-time ob-gyn

NEW ORLEANS – Services will be Tuesday for long-tme ob-gyn Dr. Philip Krupp, Jr. He died June 15 at age 88.

He was a veteran of the Korean War and former professor and chief of section of gynecologic oncology at Tulane Medical School. He conducted a private practice until 1994.

Survivors include four children.

Arrangemnts are by Lake Lawn, Metairie.

Oil exploration exec

LAFAYETTE – Services are Monday for oil exploration executive and banker C.W. “Billy” Sunday, Jr. He died June 15 at age 90.

He was U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II and president of Vermilion Bay Land Company. He was on the board of Moran Corp. and a former member of the Hibernia Bank board.

Survivors include a daughter.

Arrangements are by Martin & Castille.

TV journalist, PSC member

SHREVEPORT – Private services are planned for TV newsman and Public Service Commissioner Don Owen. He died June 17 at age 82.

He was anchor and news director on the city’s first television station, KSLA, for more than 30 years and served on the Public Service Commission for 18 years.

Survivors include two children.

Former mayor

RINGGOLD – Services for former mayor and town councilman Lawrence Ryan, Sr. will be Tuesday. He died June 16 at age 76.

He was mayor for two terms and served five years on the town council. He was in the oil field construction business and also owned a sand and gravel company and an environmental services firm.

Survivors include his wife Nell, a son and a daughter.

Arrangements are by Rockett.

ULM professor

RUSTON – Services were held here for finance and economics professor Dr. Mohamed Futavyeh. He died June 12 in Baton Rouge at age 81.

He was on the faculty of University of Louisiana Monroe for more than 30 years.

Survivors include his wife Sabah and two daughters.

Arrangements were by Mulhearn, Monroe.

Noted dancer

NEW ORLEANS – Services will be Thursday for former professional dancer and a former Mrs. New Orleans Joyce D’Amico. She died June 13.

She was a dancer with Xavier Cugat and a dance instructor with Arthur Murray and with her own studio.

Survivors include a son and a daughter.

Arrangements are by Lake Lawn, Metairie.
