Funeral services for Donald J. Laborde will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Hessmer with Father Edwin Rodriguez officiating. Interment will be in St Alphonsus Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.

Mr. Laborde, age 74, of Hessmer, passed away at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana in Lafayette on Wednesday, July 25, 2012.

He was preceded in death by parents, Mr. Rimes Laborde, Sr. and wife Marence Mills, two brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Laborde of Hessmer; one son, Patrick Laborde of Hessmer; three daughters, Patricia Laborde Tamor and husband Walter E. of New Orleans, Cindy Laborde Ducote of Hessmer and Lisa Laborde of Hessmer; five sisters, Joyce St. Romain of Hessmer, Beryl Dauzat of Brouillette, Dorothy Jeansonne of Poland, La., Patsy Wells of Arkansas and Clara Juneau of Hessmer; five brothers, Howard, Lurry and Steve Laborde all of Hessmer, Rimes and Malcolm Laborde both of New Orleans; six grandchildren, Dustin Tamor, Doug Ducote, Mathieu Tamor, Megan Tamor, Kristy Laborde, Kameron Bourgeois and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, July 27, 2012, at the Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m. and will resume Saturday from 7 a.m. until shortly before time of services. Rosary time will be 6 p.m. Friday evening.

Pallbearers are Walter Tamor, Tim Laborde, Ben Voorhies, Doug Ducote, T-Joe Panichella and Steve Dupont.
