Volunteers are sought from Avoyelles and other cenla areas

with surveys of homeless services in their respective parishes.

An orientation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 12 at the Central Louisiana Red Cross office, 425 Bolton Ave. in Alexandria. Anyone interested in volunteering should register no later than Friday, Aug. 31.

The goal of the survey is to document services and assistance available so that families and individuals can be helped. Volunteers will help with community surveys on the availability of homeless services so a list is readily available when someone is in need.

Besides Avoyelles, volunteers are also sought from Catahoula, Concordia, Grant, LaSalle, Rapides, Vernon, and Winn parishes to list services in those areas.
