LAFAYETTE - Funeral services were held for Robert Lee Huval, 57, of Lafayette, at La Chapelle de Martin and Castille in Lafayette at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 5. Burial followed in the Calvary Cemetery.
A native and lifelong resident of Lafayette, Mr. Huval died Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at his residence. He was a loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend to all who knew him. He was a dedicated employee of Turner Industries, where he worked as a foreman, fabricator and pipe fitter for many years until his retirement. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved having his canine buddy “Roscoe” at his side. He enjoyed traveling as a horse jockey, and he also loved to cook for his friends and family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include one daughter, Sydney René Huval; his mother, Lillian T. Manuel; the mother of his child, Pamela Nelsen; one sister, Judy Lormand; one brother, Richard Sidney Huval and his wife, Annette; and seven nieces and nephews, Brian Huval, Cory Lormand, Casey Lormand, Sidney Huval, Brady Huval, Blake Huval and Ashley Huval.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sidney Joseph Huval; one brother, Keith Huval; and his step-father, Derald Manuel.
Sharee Hunter, organist and soloist, sang “How Great Thou Art,” “Hail Mary, Gentle Woman,” “Ave Maria” and “Battle Hymn of the Republic” for the services.
Pallbearers were Cory Lormand, Casey Lormand, Sidney Huval, Blake Huval, Brady Huval and Richard Huval.
Father Jason Craig Vidrine officiated.

February 1, 1923 - April 3, 2008
Funeral services were held for Thelisma “Tim” Hollier, 85, of Lafayette, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 12 noon, Saturday, April 5. Burial followed in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
A native of Ville Platte, Mr. Hollier died at 4:10 a.m., Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Opelousas General Health System.
Survivors include two daughters, Vickie H. Bellon and her husband, Shelby, of Iota and Pamela H. Huffstatler of Waco, Texas; two brothers, Burke Hollier of Ville Platte and Elvin Hollier of Sunset; one sister, Armance Tate of Mamou; and four grandchildren, Ashly Nicole Huffstatler, Lauren Michelle Huffstatler, Kyler Louis Bellon and Brianne Michelle Bellon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Deville Hollier; and his parents, Adam and Adalaide Hollier.

GRAND COTEAU - Funeral services will be held for Tommy Antonio Colomb, 44, of Ville Platte, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas at 11 a.m., Monday, April 7. Burial will follow in the St. Charles Catholic Church Cemetery in Grand Coteau.
Mr. Colomb died Tuesday, April 1, 2008, in Lafayette.
Survivors include his wife, Danielle Colomb of Ville Platte; his mother, Eva Colomb of Opelousas; three sons, Antonio Colomb of Lafayette and Dannie Lee Lafleur and Samuel Lee Lafleur, both of Ville Platte; six brothers, Donald Colomb, Larry Colomb and Micheal Colomb, all of Opelousas, Calvin Christopher Colomb of Greenwell Springs, Clifton Colomb and his wife, Betty, of Cecelia and Dremaine Colomb and his wife, Faye, of Maryville, Tennessee; five sisters, Laura Colomb of Lafayette, Debbie Dean Colomb of Baton Rouge and Dr. Wendy Den Colomb Stowers, Cindy Dean Colomb and Gail Dean Colomb Hayes and her husband, Willie, all of Greenwell Springs; his step-mother, Anna Mae Colomb of Baton Rouge; his special aunt Hilda R. Savoy of Opelousas; and three godchildren, Sharday Colomb, Joni Rideau and Omri Colomb.

PINE PRAIRIE - Funeral services were held for Bernice Guillory Thibodeaux, 88, Pine Prairie, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Pine Prairie at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 5. Burial followed in the Fontenot Cemetery.
Mrs. Thibodeaux died at 8 p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Ville Platte Medical Center.
Survivors include one son, David Thibodeaux and his wife, Norma, of Pine Prairie; one daughter, Earlene Fontenot and her husband, Rogers, of Pine Prairie; one brother, Gilbert “T-Do” Guillory and his wife, Mable, of Oakdale; three sisters-in-law, Rosie Guillory of Pine Prairie, Annie Thibodeaux of Vinton and Ruby Johnson of Bayou Chicot; six grandchildren, Renee’ Aucoin, Tiffany Ashford, Hope Thibodeaux, Randy Fontenot, Scott Thibodeaux and Jason Mouret Thibodeaux; four step-grandchildren, Phyllis Thibodeaux, Justin Guillory, Derrick Guillory and David Guillory; 13 great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and one great-great-grandchild,

BARBARA HAZELTON
TURKEY CREEK - Funeral services were held for Barbara Hazelton, 83, of Turkey Creek, at the Lake Cove Community Baptist Church at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, April 5. Friends from the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints conducted the service. Burial followed in the Turkey Creek Cemetery.
Ms. Hazelton died at 10:20 p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Ville Platte Medical Center.
Survivors include three sons, Ted Hazelton, Harlan Hazelton and Richard Hazelton, all of Turkey Creek; three daughters, Lorraine H. Guillory of Glenmora and Delores H. Rivera and Pamela Jean Hazelton, both of Turkey Creek; one sister, Joyce B. Jenkins of Vidor, Texas; 20 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous brothers and sisters.

MILTON BERGERON
MAMOU - Funeral services were held for Milton Bergeron, 73, of Mamou, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 6. Burial followed in the New St. Ann’s Cemetery.
Mr. Bergeron died Friday, April 4, 2008. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was an avid fisherman and a past member of the Bass Master Club. He was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Bergeron; four sons, Micheal J. Bergeron, Donald Bergeron and his wife, Mary, Richard P. Bergeron and his wife, Jennifer, and Wayne A. Bergeron; two daughters, Gwendolyn M. Bergeron and Patricia A. Fontenot and her husband, Wilfred Jr.; one step-brother, Jessie Lintzen; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by one son, Milton J. Bergeron; his parents, Nolton Bergeron and Nela Aguillard; one half-brother, Norman Bergeron Sr.; and one half-sister, Patricia A. Soileau.
