KC & the Sunshine Band was founded in 1973 in Miami, FL. They are most known for such disco hits as “That’s the Way (I Like It),” “Keep It Comin’ Love,” “Please Don’t Go,” and of course, “(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty.”
The band has been nominated for nine Grammys (receiving three awards) and selling millions of records. They have had 18 singles on the Top U.S. 100 chart with five number one singles, 16 of which were included on the U.S. R&B chart with four number one singles.
With a career spanning almost 40 years thus far, KC & The Sunshine Band continues to perform for millions. On April 22, KC & the Sunshine Band performed “Get Down Tonight” on American Idol.
