Two arrested on drug charges by APSO

According to Sheriff Doug Anderson, two Avoyelles Parish residents were arrested Wednesday morning by the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office / C.I.U. / Narcotics Section as a result of ongoing narcotics investigations’ relating to illicit drug trafficking in Avoyelles Parish.

Sheriff’s investigators arrested Rashawn Lacarte, 23 years old and Shetrika Lavalais, 24 years old of 451 Scallan St., Apt. 212, Marksville, La.

Sheriff’s investigators executed a search warrant at the Scallan St. residence that both parties occupied. Investigators seized suspected crack cocaine, and a quantity of Darvicet, Zanex and Lortab all of which are classified as Controlled Dangerous Substances.

Both subjects were booked into the Avoyelles Parish D.C. #1 charged with Possession of Schedule II CDS with intent to Distribute, Possession of Schedule III CDS, Possession of Schedule IV CDS and Possession of a legend Drug. Bond on Lacarte was set at $45,000.00. Bond has not been set on Lavalais.
