Closed Roads and Bridges



- I-49 in Alexandria, from Exit 80-MacArthur Drive (Jct. US 71/167) to Exit 94-Rapides Station (Jct. Parish Road 23).

Detour via US 71/167 (MacArthur Drive) and LA 1.



- Richard Thompson/LA 8 Bridge over the Red River at Boyce

- I-49 overpass bridges at Broadway Avenue, Sugarhouse Road, and Cotton Gin Road





Currently, all other State Roads and Bridges in DOTD District 08 (Avoyelles, Rapides, Grant, Winn, Natchitoches, Sabine, Vernon Parishes) are open. Most roads have moderate to heavy accumulations of frozen precipitation but they are not frozen at this time. Passage is possible at lower than posted speeds.



Our crews are continuing to monitor the conditions and are applying salt to the bridge surfaces as needed. In some limited situations, we are balding the frozen precipitation off the bridge decks and some roadway surfaces.



The frozen precipitation continues to fall throughout the District although not as steady and intense as earlier.
