Visitations will be held at Escude' Funeral Home of Moreauville Thursday, March 4, 2010, from 5 pm to 10 pm and will resume Friday morning at 8 am. A rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 7 pm.
Burial services will commence at the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Cemetery in Plaucheville under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.
Russell, 80, entered eternal rest on Friday, March 2, 2010 at Avoyelles Hospital in Marksville surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father Bennie Gremillion and Nora Gremillion Soldani of Moreauville and one brother Harris Gremillion of Chalmette.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Carmaleet Chatelain Gremillion; eight children: Karen Gremillion Lemoine of Moreauville and her husband Samuel Lemoine, Joanne Gremillion Taylor of Plaucheville and her husband Keith Taylor, Terrill Gremillion of Plaucheville and his wife Tricia Bordelon Gremillion, Brian Gremillion of New Orleans, Cheryl Gremillion Cook of Gonzales, Michelle Gremillion of Plaucheville, Amy Gremillion of Lafayette, and Russell Gremillion Jr. of Pensacola, Florida: ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Odell Gremillion of Marksville and Oliver Gremillion of Donaldsonville.
Mr. Ball was well known for his great devotion to the community of Plaucheville and as well the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church and St. Joseph School.
