Services for Mr. Fenwick Paul Laborde will be held at 11 am Tuesday, July 6, 2010 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville. Burial will be held at the Lamartiniere Cemetery in Fifth Ward. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.

Mr. Laborde, age 71 of Fifth Ward, passed away at 10:32 am Saturday, July 3, 2010 at the Hessmer Nursing Home in Hessmer. He was a native and life long resident of Fifth Ward, owner and operator of Fenwick's Service Station in Fifth Ward for 31 years. Everyone referred to him as the "unofficial mayor of Fifth Ward".

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Linda Laborde of Fifth Ward, two daughters, Cindy Lemoine of Moreauville and Charlotte Gurganus of Fifth Ward; two brothers, Roland Laborde of Bunkie, Jerry Lee Laborde of Fifth Ward; three sisters, Patsy Dubea, Peggy Blanchard and Eola LaJaunie all of Fifth Ward and two grandchildren, Keith Gurganus and Lindsey Lemoine.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 5, 2010 from 10 am until 10 pm and on Tuesday from 8 am until the time of services in the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Jimmie R. Bordelon, Michael J. Lemoine, Louie W. Laborde, Mark J. Gagnard, Jessie D. Dauzat & Wayne Lajaunie.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
