Jena man critically injured in accident

Louisiana State Police Troop E investigated a singe vehicle crash on Indian Bluff Road off of LA 777 that left a Jena man in critical condition on Saturday, July 17.

According to investigating troopers, 47-year-old Micah Blasingame of Jena, LA was driving south on Indian Bluff Road on a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle. Blasingame failed to negotiate a left curve and ran off the right side of the road striking a curve warning sign. The motorcycle overturned and came to rest when it struck a tree. Blasingame, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle. He was transported by Acadian Ambulance Air Med to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Toxicology samples were taken from Blasingame, and were sent to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
