Bunkie receives trash receptacles for litter control

As part of Bunkie’s Operation Blight Fight, the city has received 10 trash receptacles through a Keep Louisiana Beautiful grant that will be placed throughout the city for litter control.
According to Mayor Brenda Sampson, the bins will be installed at the following corner locations: Cottonwood and Church Sts.; Sycamore and Church Sts.; Oak and S.E. Main Sts.; Ebony and S.E. Main Sts.; Maple St. and Dr. Hines Dr.; Oak St. and Lexington Ave.; N.W. Main and Oak St.; N. Gayle Blvd. and Shirley Rd.; S. Wavell and S. Commercial Sts. and E. Commercial St./S. Wavell St.
Through the 2024 grant program, a total of 628 receptacles were awarded to 71 organizations in 40 parishes for a total value of $491,294.
Mayor Sampson and the Bunkie City Council wish to thank Keep Louisiana Beautiful, the State of Louisiana, the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, and the numerous citizen volunteers who are bringing the battle in Operation Blight Fight to fruition.
