Funeral services for Vera Riley, of Simmesport, will take place at Escude Funeral Home in Simmesport on Saturday, April 27, 2024, beginning at 11:00 am. Burial Will take place at True Vine Baptist Cemetery in Hamburg.

Visitation from 8:00 am until 11:00 am at Escude Funeral Home in Simmesport on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

Vera Riley, age 77, passed away at her residence in Simmesport on Thursday, April 11, 2024. Vera was known for her love of shopping and cherished the moments spent with her grandchildren and children.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Laura Stelly and Shelia Riley both of Simmesport; grandchildren, Brittney Guillot, Jasen Paul Jr., Jaylin Derosion; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Young, Elenor Gorden, Ethel Cotton, Henrietta Joseph, Camille Dunbare (Jerry); brothers, Eddie Joseph, Theodore Joseph, Floyd Joseph (Annie), Donald Joseph (Peggy), Larry Joseph (Beverly).

She was preceded in death by her son, Jonathan Riley; grandchild, Jessica Guillot; parents, Paul and Madeline Joseph; brothers, Clarence Joseph and Leroy Joseph; sister, Ivory Anderson.

Vera's warm presence, love for her family, and joy in the simple moments of life will forever be remembered by those who had the pleasure of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
